The layout of the rooms and common areas are very spacious and comfortable, the furnishings and the decor are beautiful, the infinity pool area and garden are just ridiculously fabulous. The villa is situated right on the beautiful soft sand beach. It's going to be difficult figuring out which of the hundreds of photos to keep - it was truly an escape into luxurious villa on the beach, with a very talented private chef. We did manage to do some daily excursions to a safari, a turtle sanctuary, some local markets, a hidden secret beach, and a few beach bars into nearby towns. The staff is also exceptional, very thoughtful and professional. We had a great team of the house manager, head butler, housekeeper, chef and security personnel. The owners are also incredibly responsive and diligent. We were 6 adults and 2 teenagers. Our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our week at the villa and are longingly looking at our pictures of the beautiful pool, sipping fabuous drinks, eating amazing local cuisine, and just relaxing. We highly recommend Royal Indigo Villa for a group of family and or friends staying together.Verified

We had many plans to explore the island, but we ended up staying in the villa because it was an amazing experience. The Chef Prashan beats any restaurant in the area. We ate every meal in the villa. The food is so fresh and clean. Anything you want he can make. Padmini is an amazing villa manager and took care of the logistics for us. If you need any excursion booked they donit for you. Shanaka can make any drink for you and is so sweet. They clean the villa everyday and helped with everything we needed. Just such a stunning place to relax and explore beautiful Sri Lanka from. In the very capable hands of Rocky, we have visited Galle, Unawatuna and Koggala. Surfing, Yoga and shopping all arranged by Rocky, for whom nothing is too much trouble. We were very privileged to have our marriage blessed by the Monk - a memory that will remain with us for the rest of our loves and all arranged perfectly by Rocky - including fireworks!! We enjoyed Pransanth's incredible cooking and endless menu ideas. Steve S2023-08-23Luxury by the ocean Royal Indigo Villa would have to be one of the most luxurious and wonderful hotels that we have ever stayed in. Situated in an ideal position directly on the beach, with the surf literally at the back fence, it is a truly idyllic place. It features spacious well appointed rooms, We even had our own private plunge pool in our ensuite. The villa has an interesting design and has beautiful historic local pieces and artefacts scattered around which gives it a homely feel that you often don’t see in other hotels. All of the staff are excellent. Welcoming and totally efficient. The manager Rocky was able to cater for anything we required, and has a very engaging and personable manner. Having overnight security was an unexpected bonus. Meals are beautiful and really well prepared. We really enjoyed traditional Sri Lankan meals, particularly the breakfasts. The special bar snacks were another highlight. One of the best features without doubt was the sea water infinity pool, with the entertaining area and grassed lawn. We certainly spent plenty of time around there. The Villa is situated in a perfect area. There are plenty of bars around, plus lots of local cultural places to check out nearby. Unawatuna Beach is a very short tuk tuk ride away, with Galle not much further. We fully recommend staying at Royal Indigo. It’s perfect for a family retreat or a group of friends getaway. Anthony D2023-05-21Family friendly beachfront villa with friendly staff and everything at your doorstep Our family stayed at Royal Indigo Villa in April and couldn't recommend it more highly. Our group had a total of six adults and two children and the villa was perfect for us, with three double bedrooms and one bunk room spread over three beautiful levels. The outdoor area is divine with a lovely horizon pool and garden set in front of a backdrop of the ocean, with direct beach access. The staff are super friendly and are available throughout the day and night to prepare food and drinks and attend to any other needs we had. There are tuk-tuk drivers who are affiliated with the villa and are available as soon as you need them, from a quick trip into Galle to a longer ride somewhere further afield. Highly recommend Royal Indigo Villa to any group who is looking for a relaxing, tropical getaway!Verified
Christian M2023-03-17Amazing stay! The staff were very professional, frankly we felt like home! The food was great and the chef adapted to what we wanted. With a security person around, it was very secure and we felt super safe. The villa is heavenly. With the infinity pool, direct access to the Indian Ocean, very nice decor of the villa, comfortable rooms, we really enjoyed every moment and this exceeded our expectations. Moreover, the JBL speaker in the villa, the very cool beach swing just at the door of the villa, and the turtle visit at night just made our stay unforgettable. Rocky, the villa manager, became very quickly our friend, recommending and booking for us activities and always there for us smiling and doing everything to make our Lebanese crew of 6 people happy. How lucky we have been to spend Christmas and New Year at this fabulous villa. What more could we have asked for - a beautiful setting with wonderful staff. Janaka, the chef, did everything for us cooked fabulous meals, did our washing and provided lot of interesting conversation. Wow!! Were our first words stepping in
Thankyou for our awesome stay. The staff were amazing, busy little bees just quietly getting on with their jobs and so friendly. The Villa ticked every luxury box and made our stay extra special. The pool overlooking the sea was incredible as well as opening the shutters and looking onto the sea in the morning with a cuppa tea. Décor phenomenal. The tea wheel actually inspired us to go on the hunt for one of our own. The Villa was such a lovely spot and to meet up with our friends The Youmans, the teenage kids had so much fun in the pool and passing in front of the mirror. Our holiday here has been perfect, Stuart and Erandi have considered every detail and couldn’t have been more helpful. Lakmal the manager is a welcome host, with the people here going above and beyond for everything that is needed.
Janaka will cook you the best food on the Island (I have no doubt) he cooks from the heart and nothing is too much trouble.
Isuru, the kindest person who will make sure everything is lovely and taken care of for you. Kaveesh also wonderful as is Laxman who obviously cares very much to assure the garden and beach looks spectacular every day. The villa as you can see is delightful, but it is the heart of the people here that makes it a home. I’m sure this was Stuart and Erandi’s vision to create you a ‘home from love’, of course this makes us all want to return again and again.

The moment we arrived at Royal Indigo, we received such a warm and special welcome from the team and from then, we knew we were set for a wonderful stay.
With the benefit of hindsight though, the welcome started 6 months (!) earlier, when Stue and Erandi made themselves available to our constant request for information through email of or telephone cells. Nothing was ever too much trouble as we looked to plan our 8 day stay for a family of 9!
The villa itself is absolutely magnificent, it is spacious, airy, architecturally wonderful and is decorated via sophisticated yet charming way. Moreover, each of the four bedrooms are unique, with two on the top floor having the best views imaginable.
The plunge pool and outdoor bathroom was pure showbiz. The pool area is so classy and the garden, bbq are and private beach make up a fantastic outdoor offering. As a villa, Royal Indigo scores 10/10.however the staff scores it higher, if possible. Lakmal the gm looked after all our needs, all our wishes were catered with a smile. Janaka the chef cooked the most amazing food and nothing was too much trouble. Kavish runs around supporting him and would do anything to help. Isuru, did an amazing job at keeping the villa spotless. Running around after 3 teenage girls isn’t easy, and he did it with a smile on his face. Lakshman the gardener + security team kept the external logistics too.
As a family we feel absolutely blessed to have spent Christmas is such a beautiful country, a beautiful villa so thankyou all for making our holiday so wonderful.

ROYAL Indigo Villa was our base for a week long family holiday/celebration. It Is immediately obvious how much care of attention to detail Erandi + Stue have put into the villa. The traditional style lends itself to the soothing ceilings and there are beautiful pieces throughout the villa.
For some in our group it was their first time to Sri Lanka so the location was not only spectacular but very convenient for us to have short trips to Galle Fort, turtle hatchery, Koggala lake etc – which was also perfect for the younger children.
The surfers in the group headed off most mornings – again a big plus for the location and of course the pool was enormously popular with everyone + made a spectacular backdrop for the ocean.
